I run a small catering/personal chef business and have been doing this full time for about 8 months now. I've been doing well and am busier than I thought I would be this early in the game. However, I'm at a point where I need some more cash to help the business grow and purchase things like equipment, etc. How do I start going about seeking out investors and what is the best way to go about it?

I know I could go see if my bank would give me a small business loan but several people have told me I should seek out investors first. I have a business plan and other planning/financial info which is up to date.

I live in Canada as well, if that is a factor.
